Fraterhuis

		The Dissident (VERWACHT) Reconstructie die het bedrog blootlegt achter de moord op de Saoedi-Arabische journalist Jamal Khashoggi in de Saoedische ambassade in Istanbul. ‘The Dissident’ handelt over geld, tirannie en doorgedraaide technologie. De reconstructie van de moord op de Washington Post-journalist vindt plaats aan de hand van niet eerder vertoonde beelden en toegang tot degenen die het dichtst bij de zaak staan, inclusief Jamal Khashoggi’s verloofde en de jonge Saoedische dissident met wie Khashoggi samenwerkte. Al het bewijs leidt rechtstreeks naar de Saoedische kroonprins Mohammed bin Salman, die nergens voor terugdeinst om de zaak in de doofpot te stoppen. De kern van de film draait om Jamal Khashoggi zelf, een principiële hervormer die probeerde een rechtvaardiger en open samenleving te creëren in zijn thuisland. ‘The Dissident’ toont dat in de huidige wereld niemand die tegen dominante krachten ingaat, echt veilig is.
